ABOUT > WRITING FOR USReadership and ContentMadonna accepts unsolicited articles. Please allow some time for them to be considered at our editorial meetings. Madonna is a magazine for those generally interested in spirituality, rather than for specialists in theology or liturgy. Madonna's major aims are:
Writers will endeavour to meet the readers where they are, in the midst of their daily lives, and explore the ways God can be present there. StylePersonal stories or personal reflections on aspects of Christian life or belief are most appropriate. Language should be simple and direct, and not technical. We prefer articles to be typed, in 12 point Times and double spaced, without any extra formatting (boxes, indents, etc). They can be sent by mail or as an attachment by email. Word LimitsShorter rather than long articles - ie, 500-750 words - 1000 maximum, if necessary. The editor reserves the right to edit articles for space reasons. RatesMadonna has a modest budget for contributions. We usually pay a nominal fee of $25.00 per contribution. PhotographsPhotographs accompanying articles are most welcome. Please send these as photographic prints, or if in digital format, as high-resolution images (300 dpi preferred). CopyrightCopyright in all articles, or other material, remains with the authors of those articles. By offering material for publication, you also extend the right for the material to be used in the magazine, and also as part of the Madonna website. It also allows us to use the material as part of any promotional campaign for the magazine. We occasionally receive requests for reproduction of articles from Madonna in such places as church bulletins or group newsletters. We usually grant this permission, provided that the article's author and its source are credited. You need to inform us at the time of submission if this arrangement is not acceptable.
